“Candidates who are not in possession of the required qualifications will be appointed into the general stream, and they will be required to obtain the necessary qualifications within a predetermined period of time. “Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements, may also apply. Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Basic computer literacy and presentation skills. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Ability to promote quality through the setting, implementation and the monitoring of standards. Ability to function independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective communication, interpersonal leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure.
 
Requirements
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in Occupational Health Nursing Science.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific specialty after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in Occupational Health Nursing Science. Appropriate, recognisable experience in Occupational Health Nursing.

Registration with a professional council:
Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse. Proof of 2021 annual registration with the SANC.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
The provision of Occupational Health Nursing Services at institutional level (promoting health, wellness and safety in the workplace.) The provision of an advisory service on Occupational Health and Safety matters. Rendering an efficient Administration System including the collection, collation, validation and interpretation of statistical data and report writing for the Occupational Health Clinic. Participate in training programmes in conjunction with Human Resources Development and Training Department. Implement OHS goals and targets. Provide a support and relief service to the Nursing Department.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Will be required to work shifts (day and night), weekends and public holidays. Will be required to do after hour hospital cover. Valid code (B/EB) drivers licence.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 383 226 (PN-B1)-R 444 276 per annum, Grade 2: R 471 333 (PN-B2)- R 579 696 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
