Professional Nurse: Grade 1 to 2 (Specialty: Clinical Nurse Training)

Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. A post basic qualification with a duration of at least one year, accredited with SANC in Advance Midwifery and Neonatal Nursing Science.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Extensive knowledge of Nursing Act, policies, procedures and protocols pertaining to peri-natal care. Insight into perinatal training initiatives (EOST, ESMOE). Competent in facilitation, mentoring, coaching, and presentation skills. Knowledge of basic and post basic training programmes. Computer literacy (MS Office, Excel, Power Point and Internet) (will be tested). Excellent communication skills: verbal, written and report writing. Proficient in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape Province. Proficient in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape Province.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Facilitate learning opportunities for all nursing personnel. Provide professional, technical and educational support for the maintenance of quality perinatal care through proper management of nursing care programmes. Assist with the monitoring of the implementation of policies and procedures, protocols and regulations, to maintain good clinical practice standards. Co-ordinate formal nurse training programmes (undergraduate / postgraduate) and effective utilization of material resources. Compilation and execution of peri-natal education training programmes.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific speciality after obtaining the one year post basic qualification in the relevant speciality as mentioned above.

Note:
Only officials employed by the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post. Selected candidates maybe subjected to a practical assessment.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Proof of registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse with the proof of current registration i.e. annual licensing receipt and proof of payment for 2020/2021.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 383 226 (PN-B1) -R 444 276 per annum, Grade 2: R 471 333 (PN-B2) - R 579 696 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
