Appropriate Trade Test Certificate in the field. |

|
Carry out routine inspection, maintenance and repairs including alteration and installation of building/carpentry/furniture, fittings and in the manufacturing of assistive devices. Assist Artisan Foreman with administration, planning and schedules. Complete and return repair requisitions and assist in ordering and controlling the workshop, materials and tools. Do quality assurance on all maintenance and repair work performed and keep register of all work done. Liaise with all relevant personnel in ensuring Groote Schuur Hospital is within regulations regarding carpentry department. Liaise with service providers and agents to negotiate quotations and maintenance. Supervise and training of staff. |

Good communication skills in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Conversant with the requirement of the Machinery and Occupational Health and Safety Act. Ability to manage a workshop. Project Management Skills. |

Grade A: No experience required. Grade B: At least 18 years appropriate/recognisable experience in an area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate. Grade C: At least 34 years appropriate/recognisable experience in an area after obtaining the relevant Trade Test Certificate. |

Remuneration:
|
Grade A: R 190 653 - R 211 596 per annum, Grade B: R 224 574 - R 249 246 per annum, Grade C: R 262 176 - R 324 708 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
