Knowledge and application of regulations, policies and standards pertaining to the Forensic pathology process. Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines and solve complex problems in a multi-disciplinary team. Sound knowledge and understanding of legislation pertaining to Forensic Pathology service and ethical issues in Forensic Pathology service. Above average communication skills in two of the three official languages of the Western Cape and the ability to communicate clearly and discreetly in person and in writing Above-average computer and software literacy in MS Excel and Word, FPS, BIM Systems and ECM Appropriate people skills, planning skills and ability to teach and train evisceration techniques. |

Supervising staff in the effective and efficient recovery, storage and processing of deceased. Continual inspections and quality control of all registers, documents and IT systems. Render an efficient support service to the Forensic Pathology Laboratory Manager. Manage and evaluate staff performances and quarterly reporting thereof. An effective and efficient Management of corpses. An effective specimen, exhibit and property management process rendered in accordance with set standards and guidelines An effective forensic autopsy process rendered in accordance with set standards and guidelines An efficient support service to the Manager with regard to management of the Forensic Pathology Laboratory. |

The candidate will be subjected to an interview and competency test. Candidates will be subjected to security clearance prior to appointment. Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to a psychometric evaluation. Only applicants within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post. |

|
Valid Code B/EB driver’s license. Ability to lift and work with corpses (mutilated, decomposed, infectious viruses, etc). Will be required to assist in the planning/training of Major incident exercises as well as involvement in Major incident roles Will be required to work standby, overtime and wear uniform. Will be required to investigate and gather evidence for Pathologist. (Statements, reports Hospital notes and folders.) |

Remuneration:
|
R 316 791 - R 373 167 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
