Operational Manager Nursing: Grade 1 (General) (2 posts)

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. degree/diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Knowledge and insight of relevant legislation and policy related to nursing within the public Sector. Ability to promote quality patient care through the setting, implementation and monitoring of standards. Effective interpersonal, leadership, decision making and conflict resolution skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure. Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint.

Note:
Only officials employed by the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse and proof of current registration required (licensing receipt 2021).
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Supervise and co-ordinate the provision of effective and efficient client care through adequate excellent quality care. Manage and monitor proper utilisation of human, financial and physical resources. Participate in analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures. Maintain professional growth and ethical standards and promote quality of nursing care. Develop and maintain constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders (i.e. inter-sectorial and interdisciplinary, inter-departmental teamwork). Ensure that participation in research related activities are evident in the practice. Co- ordinate and monitor the implementation of nursing care plan and evaluation thereof.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Willingness to work shifts, weekends, public holidays and relief night-duty.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 444 276 (PN-A5)-R 500 031 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
