Administrative Officer: Support Services (Linen Management)

Duties (key results areas/outputs):
Administer Supply Chain with regards to the purchasing of linen, processing claims and ensure that all stakeholders are audited timeously. Advise on linen requirements, reviewing linen specifications, assist with risk management analysis and compile monitoring reports. Manage linen Contracts, ordering and payments of linen. Ensure that the planning and Control of Linen Service is effective. Administer all Human Resources Administrative matters within Linen Management Component. Responsible for the effective and efficient supervision and co-ordination of the transport fleet pertaining Linen Management. Compile monthly and annual Linen Reports. Coordinate audit queries and assist with linen audits. Training of sub-ordinates and new appointees. Optimal support to Control Laundry Manager (Linen Management) and Deputy Director Laundry Services.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in a Health Care Linen environment, Administrative and Supervisory experience.
 
Requirements
Grade 12/Senior Certificate plus competencies.

Note:
Shortlisted candidates may be subjected to a practical test. The successful candidate must be willing to work in one of the central laundries as part of her/his training orientation for a period not longer than two months.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills)
Understand the basic principles with regard to auditing (e.g. WCGH Linen). Good written and communication skills (verbal and oral) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Knowledge of subsistence and travelling procedures. Computer literacy (MS word, Excel, PowerPoint). Knowledge of Bid contracts and Tender procedures. Good interpersonal, conflict management and communication skills. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team. Good planning, organisational and problem-solving skills. Professional appearance and approach. In-depth knowledge and able to identify the different types of linen used within Western Cape Government Health.
 
Inherent requirement of the job
Willingness to travel and stay occasionally away from home for long periods. Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 242 475 - R 285 630 Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
