Pharmacy Supervisor Grade 1

Experience:
A minimum of 3 years’ appropriate experience after registration as a Pharmacist with the SAPC.
 
Requirements
Basic qualification accredited with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) that allows registration with the SAPC as a Pharma¬cist.

Competencies (knowledge/skills)
In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to pharmacy practice within public healthcare. In- depth knowledge of relevant finance and supply chain instructions applicable to the procurement of medicines in the public health sector. Proven organizational leadership and management skills in Pharmaceutical services at strategic and operational level. Knowledge and experience in human resource management, especially staff performance management, staff development and disciplinary procedures. Excellent interpersonal, communication and conflict resolution skills. Experience in managing pharmaceutical budgets. Ability to communicate in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Computer literacy in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and JAC.

Registration with a professional council:
Registration with the SAPC as a Pharmacist.
 
Duties (key results areas/outputs):
The effective and efficient management of the pharmacy department of Alexandra Hospital within clinical governance framework. The effective and efficient management of the pharmacy budget. The effective and efficient management of human resources in the pharmacy department. Ensure compliance to relevant National Core Standards and Pharmacy Council regulations, prescripts and standards. Assist hospital management in the strategic development of clinical services by actively participating and representing the hospital’s pharmacy services in relevant internal and external forums such as the Provincial Pharmaceutical and Therapeutic Committee, clinical audit meetings, etc.
 
Inherent requirement of the job
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 780 612 - R 828 507 A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual's personal needs.
