Food Services Aid

Experience:
Appropriate experience in preparing patient meals in hospitals will be to your advantage.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
 
Note:
Candidates will be subjected to a practical/written assessment.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good communication skills. Self- disciplined, motivated, sober habits, willingness to develop skills and undergo training. Ability to read, write and interpret recipes to prepare the meals to be served and be able to use an electronic kitchen scale. Appropriate knowledge of basic cleaning and maintenance of equipment used in the Food Service Unit.

Inherent requirements of the job:
Physically strong to lift heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day. Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Provision of food services, including pre-preparation & preparation of normal and special diets as well as dishing up and distribution of the meals. Assist with the receiving and storage of perishables and groceries. Implement & Control hygienic environment according to occupational health and safety prescripts including infection control. Maintenance of appliances and equipment. Assist with human resources development program for the unit.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 131 265 per annum - R 154 626 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
