Dental Technician (Dental Treatment)

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to function within a multi-disciplinary team setting, to be flexible and to work independently. Good management, administrative and supervisory, good problem–solving, conflict resolution. Appropriate experience in a teaching and learning environment. Good Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel and Outlook). Appropriate experience in Crown and Bridge Ceramics, Tooth morphology, Implantology, Press able ceramics, Digital Dental Cad Cam Milling, 3D Dental Printing, and Sintering processes. Proficient in doing Zirconia Crowns and Bridges.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the South African Dental Technicians Council of South Africa (SADTC) as a Dental Technician.
 
Registration with a Professional Council:
Current registration with SADTC as a Dental Technician.
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Ensure delivery of Dental Technology Services, (Dental Ceramics, Implants, Press able Ceramics and Digital Dental Cad-Cam within the various components of the Oral Health Centre, Tygerberg and Mitchell’s Plain platform. Continuous development and obtaining technical skills required for optimal Teaching and Learning, Service delivery and Research. Administrative duties. Deliver service over the ORAL Health Centre platform of Tygerberg and Mitchell’s Plain. Must be able to function as part of dental team. Implant supported prosthesis.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration with the SADTC in Dental Technician in respect of RSA qualified employees. One-year relevant experience after registration with SADTC in Dental Technology. Grade 2: Minimum of 10 years relevant experience after registration with the SADTC in Dental Technician in respect of SA qualified employees. Minimum of 11 years relevant experience after registration with the SADTC. Grade 3: Minimum of 20 years relevant experience after registration with the SADTC in Dental Technician in respect of RSA qualified employees. Minimum of 21 years relevant experience after registration with the SADTC in Dental Technology.

No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. “Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements may also apply. Remuneration:
Grade 1: R376 524-R430 512 per annum, Grade 2: R439 755-R 501 630 per annum, Grade: R 514 785-R 623 229 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
