A minimum of 8 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 3 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience at management level. |

Basic R425 qualification (i.e. Diploma or Degree in Nursing) or equivalent that allows for registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. |

The pool of applicants will be considered for similar other vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert. |

Skilled nurse clinician able to lead and manage the nursing service within the scope of practice and accepted nursing standards. In-depth knowledge and understanding of legal and ethical legislations and policies related to nursing practices, Health Care, and the Public Service. Basic computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). |

To facilitate and promote holistic care and education according to individual needs of patients in the six wards at night. To supervise and support personnel to ensure effective quality patient care on night. To control and monitor consumables. To participate in nursing research / initiatives for the benefit of the department Support head of department, supervisors, and colleagues by ensuring continuing of operational needs between night and day shift. Facilitate optimal continuous functioning of departmental service. Facilitate communication of relevant information between clinical areas and hospital management on day shift. Provide effective support to management and establish and maintain constructive working relationships with all other stakeholders. To promote and facilitate training on night duty and development of staff. |

Valid driver’s licence. Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after- hours and do standby duties as required. Willingness to do relief duties as needed. |

Remuneration:
|
R 656 964 - R 771 309 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
