Appropriate experience in applying legislation and policies related to Occupational Health and Safety, Health Care Waste Management and Environmental Health. |

Appropriate three-year National Diploma or degree. |
|
|
Ensure WCGHW -METRO facilities comply with relevant Occupational Health and Safety and Health Care Waste Management requirements, legislation, codes of practice, standards, and norms. Investigate, report on, and assist with resolving Occupational Health and Safety and Health Care Waste incidents at facilities, manage and facilitate Occupational Health and Safety and Health Care Waste Management training at WCGHW – Metro facilities. Promote Occupational Health and Safety and Health Care Waste awareness at WCGH- Metro facilities and maintain a Health Care Waste Management database and develop reports. Development of policies, standard operating procedures, norms, and standards. Conducting site visits and inspections. Compilation of reports and reports writing and collating information and maintaining databases. |

No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from the date of advert. Candidates will be subjected to a written/practical and oral assessment. |

|
Project Management, Research, Policy Development and Practical knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to Occupational Health and Safety and Health Care Waste Management. Good organizational, interpersonal, leadership, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills and attention to detail and the ability to work independently. Computer literacy and thorough knowledge of computer systems (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and good verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team within the parameters of matrix management to ensure good quality Healthcare in the Institution, understanding healthcare legislation and related legal and ethical healthcare practices. |

Remuneration:
|
R 376 413 - R443 403 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
