A minimum of 9 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. At least 5 years of the above experience must be in psychiatry after obtaining the 1-year qualification in Advanced Psychiatry Nursing Science. |

Basic R425 qualification (i.e. degree/diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse. A post-basic nursing qualification with a duration of at least 1 year accredited with the SANC in Advanced Psychiatry Nursing Science in terms of R212. |

The pool of applicants will be considered for other similar posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services for a period of 3 months from date of advert. |

Provide leadership, supervision, planning, direction and control for the provision of improved patient centred care in a psychiatric ward. Implement an efficient and effective quality improvement programme. Implement an effective and efficient Resource management (human, health technology, financial and facility) plan. Overall Management of the nursing component, including students, ward clerk and household support. Implement an effective and efficient clinical practice in a specialised psychiatric ward. Manage infection control, development and training programmes for nursing and related staff. Provide support to the Deputy Manager Nursing office. |

Willingness to work shifts, after hours, public holidays, day or night and standby duties. A valid drivers’ licence. |

Remuneration:
|
R 656 964 per annum - R 748 683 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
