Clinical Programme Coordinator Grade 1 (Infection Prevention Control)

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration asProfessional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing.
 
Note:
All candidates may be subjected to a practical test. No payment of any kind is required when applyingfor this post. The pool of applicants will be considered for other Clinical Programme Co-Ordinatorposts in Infection Prevention Control within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services for a periodof 3 months from date of advert.
 
Minimum educational qualifications:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allowsregistration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse. (This dispensationis only applicable for posts of Clinical Programme Co-ordinator where it is an inherent requirement ofthe post, incumbent to maintain registration with the SANC).
 
Duties (Key result areas/outputs):
Develop and ensure implementation of clinical practice guidelines and Standard OperatingProcedures (SOP’s) in Infection Prevention Control (IPC) for use by staff and participate insurveillance and auditing. Facilitate and coordinate the management of risks as identified in terms ofinfection control and participation in outbreak investigations to give relevant inputs and advice.Deliver an effective Central Sterilizing Department (CSD), w.r.t. infection prevention and control in theInstitution within a professional / legal framework. Provide effective guidance and training in InfectionPrevention and Control to staff. Participation in training and Research programmes relevant to theprincipals and management of infection prevention and control. Financial Management control andManagement of Medical Waste.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good interpersonal relations, leadership and communication skills (verbal and written). Knowledge ofProvincial infection prevention and control measures and practices. Ability to analyse health systemsinformation, and skills and experience in the preparation of reports. Project Management skills andComputer literacy.

Inherent requirement of the job:

Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 520 560 - 596 322 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
