Dietician Grade 1 to 3

Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Clinical nutrition management of in and out-patients in assigned area. Development of patient education materials. Development and updating of clinical nutrition protocols. Participate in in-service training and mentoring of all categories of personnel and students on nutrition related topics. General administration including assisting with planning, reporting activities conducted, and monitoring of nutritional programmes.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of RSA qualified employees. 1-year relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 2: A minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of SA qualified employees. A Minimum of 11 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa. Grade 3: A minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as Dietician in respect of SA qualified employees. A minimum of 21 years’ relevant experience after registration with the HPCSA as a Dietician in respect of foreign qualified employees, of whom it is not required to perform Community Service, as required in South Africa.

Note:
No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Candidates who are not in possession of the stipulated registration requirements may also apply. Such candidates will only be considered for appointment on condition that proof of application for registration to register with the relevant council and proof of payment of the prescribed registration fees to the relevant council are submitted on or before the day of the interview. Candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment.
 
Registration with a professional council:
Registration with Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Dietician.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Thorough knowledge and exposure to all aspects relating to clinical Dietetics. Good interpersonal, communication and organisational skills. Skills should include computer literacy, facilitation, presentation and project coordination.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Willingness to work overtime.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 376,524 -R 430,512 per annum, Grade 2: R 439,755 -R 501,630 per annum, Grade 3: R 514,785 -R 623,229 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
