Operational Manager Nursing Grade 1 (General)

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
 
Minimum Educational Qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Professional Nurse.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good managerial, supervisory, basic computer (MS Office, Outlook and Teams) and decision-making skills. Proficiency in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Knowledge and insight of legislation and policies, relevant to current nursing practice within the Public Service. Disciplinary and conflict management skills.

Registration with a Professional Council:
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
 
Duties (key results areas/outputs):
Supervise, plan and implement the provision of effective and efficient patient care in a small district hospital. Participate in the analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures. Provide effective leadership and management of human, financial and physical resources to ensure optimal operational functions Supervise, plan and implement the provision of effective and efficient infection control measures. Maintain and participate in inter professional & multidisciplinary teamwork and have a constructive working relationship with nursing personnel and other stakeholders. Optimal support to the supervisor & management. Provide management support, guidance and direction to personnel under her/his supervision towards the realisation of strategic goals and objectives of the Health Department. Function as a health care professional according to the applicable norms and standards.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Willingness to work overtime, night duty and weekends as required. Valid Code B/EB driver’s license
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 520 560 - 596 322 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
