Appropriate experience in a Central Sterilization Supply Department. |
|
|
Assist with the monitoring, control and maintenance adequate stock levels, report, and assist with investigation of lost instruments/equipment. Effective application of sterilization processes and techniques and promote/adhere to infection control as well as health and safety regulations. Decontaminate, pack and sterilize instruments linen and supplies. Assist with cleaning and testing of sterilization equipment, washing machine and autoclaves, lift-up and pushing heavy equipment. Maintain equipment in an optimum working condition and utilization of resources. Use autoclaves, washing machines and equipment/consumables in a cost-effective manner. Maintaining professional growth, Ethical standards, and Self – Development. Record Keeping. |

Effective communication skills. Ability to work in a co-operative way within a team context and willingness to be rotated within the Central Sterilization Processing department. Good interpersonal relations skills. Basic understanding of disinfection, decontamination and sterilization. |

No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert. Candidates will be subjected to a written/practical and oral assessment. |

Willingness to work shifts, day and night duty, weekends, and public holidays to meet the operational requirements. Willingness to work in any department within Central Processing Department (CSSD & Gas). |

Remuneration:
|
R 155 148- R 182 757 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
