Operational Manager Nursing: General (Outpatients Department)

Experience:
A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration with SANC as a Professional Nurse in General Nursing.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic R425 qualification (i.e. diploma/degree in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as Professional Nurse.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge of legal framework and regulations regarding nursing practice. Good leadership and people management skills maintain constructive relationships with members of the multi-disciplinary team. Computer literacy (i.e. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Demonstrate a good understanding of People Management (Human Resources) and financial policies and practices. Effective interpersonal, leadership, organisational, decision making and conflict resolution skills.
 
Registration with a Professional Council:
Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Professional Nurse and Midwife.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Supervise and ensure the provision of an effective and efficient patient care through adequate nursing care. Coordinate and monitor the implementation of nursing care plan and evaluation thereof. Provide relevant health information to health care users to assist in achieving optimal health care and rehabilitation of patients. Participate in analysis, formulation and implementation of nursing guidelines, practices, standards and procedures. Maintain constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Manage and monitor proper utilisation of human, financial and physical resource.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Willingness to work shifts, overtime, after hours hospital cover, weekends and Public Holidays as required.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 520 560- R 596 322 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
