Development Youth (Patient Care Assistant) Internship (2 posts) (Contract period of 12 months)

Experience:
Appropriate experience working as a Carer in a Healthcare setting.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Assisting with basic needs of patients. Cleaning of equipment. Effective and efficient utilization of equipment stock and equipment. Do regular rounds to high-risk patients with a potential for falling. Assist nurses in lifting and turning patients when necessary. Effective record keeping of activities.
 
Requirements
Between the age of 18 – 35. Ability to lift patients. Willingness to work shifts.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
General Education and Training Certificate (GETC)/Grade 9 (Std 7), NQF Level 1/2/3/4, Ancillary Health Care certificate (HWSETA), or Accreditation Home Base Care certificate.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good interpersonal relations with supervisor, colleagues, and the public. Ability to function in a group. Good communication skills.
