| A post-basic nursing qualification, with duration of at least 1 year, in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (i.e. R48). Basic R425(Degree/Diploma in nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration with SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwifery. |

| Grade 1: A minimum of 4 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. Grade 2: A minimum of 14 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as Professional Nurse with the SANC in General Nursing. At least 10 years of the period referred to above must be appropriate/recognisable experience in the specific speciality after obtaining the 1-year post-basic qualification in in Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (i.e. R48). |

| Provide an optimal, holistic, specialised Nursing Care within set standards and within a professional, legal framework as a Clinical Nurse Practitioner in Trauma and Emergency. Maintain a constructive working relationship with nursing and other stakeholders. Utilize human, material and physical resources efficiently and effectively. Participate in research and training and development of community, staff and students to achieve optimal health care and rehabilitation of trauma and emergency patients. Assist with administrative duties, e.g. data collation and reporting. |

| Registration with the SANC as Professional Nurse and Midwifery |

| Sound knowledge and understanding of nursing and health service-related acts, legislation, policies and practices. Problem solving, report writing, liaison and facilitation skills Basic computer skills in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and use of Internet. Ability to lift and turn patients, stand for long hours and lift heavy equipment. |

| This concession is only applicable to candidates who apply for the first time for registration in the post basic qualification in: Clinical Nursing Science: Health Assessment, Treatment and Care accredited with the SANC (i.e. R48). The pool of applicants will be considered for similar vacant posts within Groote Schuur Hospital for a period of 3 months from date of advert. Short-listed candidates may be subjected to a compulsory competency test. |

| Willingness to work shifts including weekends, public holidays and night duty. Willingness to rotate to other departments within Trauma and Emergency unit |

Remuneration:
|
|
Grade 1: R 451 533- R 530 376 per annum, Grade 2: R 553 545- R 686 211 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
