Forensic Pathology Officer Grade 1 to 2 (2 posts)

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to be trained in 4x4 Vehicle handling. Ability to be trained in photography. Will be required to deliver testimony in court proceedings. Willingness to be trained in Forensic Investigation and Dissection. Will be required to work shift duties/office duties and overtime duties. Ability to work under pressure.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Effective and efficient recovery, storage and processing of deceased. An effective forensic autopsy process rendered in accordance with set standards and guidelines. Optimal control of reports and statements during and after the Forensic Mortuary process. An effective and efficient Management of Unknown corpses. An efficient support service to the Manager regarding Corporate and Clinical Governance functions of the Forensic Pathology Laboratory.
 
Experience:
Grade 1: None. Grade 2: 10 year’s appropriate experience.

Minimum educational qualification:
Senior Certificate with having achieved Mathematics, Life Science and / or Biology as passed subjects.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Valid Code B/EB driver’s license. Ability to communicate clearly and discreetly in person and in writing. Ability to work with and lift corpses, (mutilated, decomposed, infectious viruses, obese). Computer and software literacy (MS Office).
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
Grade 1: R 205 773- R 235 284 per annum, Grade 2: R 239 658- R 278 910 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
