Inherent requirement of the job:
Ability to work day/night shifts (weekends and public holidays) Must be willing to enter all types of hospital wards and serve the patients. Ability to do work of a physical nature which includes lifting heavy objects and be on their feet the entire day.
 
Experience:
Appropriate Large Scale Hospital Foodservice unit experience.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic numeracy and literacy.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Knowledge of production for normal and therapeutic diets in an Industrial large scale foodservice unit. Knowledge of HACCP and safety principles.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Utilise the Cook Chill System which involves pre-preparation, cooking, plating, distributing, regenerating, serving meals and beverages for the patients in accordance with the PGWC Food Service Policy. Follow standardized PGWC Recipes and Menus. Assist in receipt and storage of all provisions in the foodservice unit. Clean and maintain the kitchen area and equipment and adhere to health and safety regulations. Communicate with patients and kitchen staff and feedback problems and recommendations to the Foodservice supervisor/manager. Dress according to Departmental specifications and adhere to Hospital/PGWC Policy.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 131 265- R 154 626 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
