A minimum of 7 years appropriate/recognisable experience in nursing after registration as a Professional Nurse with SANC in General Nursing. |

Appropriate experience in Obstetric Services. Ability to promote quality patient care through the setting, implementation, and monitoring of standards. Ability to function independently as well as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Effective communication, interpersonal, leadership, decision making, and conflict resolution and labour relations skills. Good organisational skills and the ability to function under pressure. Computer literacy (MS Office). Knowledge and insight of relevant legislation and policy related to General Obstetrics in Post-natal and Kangaroo Mother and Child care within the public sector. |

Basic R425 qualifications (i.e., Degree/Diploma in Nursing) or equivalent qualification that allows registration as a Professional Nurse with the South Africa Nursing Council (SANC) as a General Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. |

The pool of applicants will be considered for other vacant Operational Manager Nursing General (Postnatal and KMC Wards) posts within the Chief Directorate: Metro Health Services, for a period of 3 months from date of advert. Candidates will be subjected to a practical/written and oral assessment. |

Planning, manage, co-ordinate and maintain an optimal, Nursing Services as an Operational Manager in a Postnatal and KMC Ward. Effective management and utilisation of Human and Financial Resources to ensure optimal operational function in the units. Initiate, co-ordinate and participate in training, development, and research within the nursing department. Relief supervisor and colleagues when needed. After- hour hospital cover for both day and night duty and deliver a support service to the Nursing Service and the institution. Maintain ethical standards and promote professional growth and self-development. Relief the Assistant Manager: Nursing when needed. |

Registration with the SANC as a Professional Nurse and Midwife/Accoucheur. |
|
|
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Willingness to work shifts, public holidays, after-hours, and weekend cover for nursing. |

Remuneration:
|
Grade 1: R 520 560- R 596 322 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
