Artisan Assistant (Air-Conditioning and Refrigeration)

Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to work independently and under pressure. Good communication skills. Ability to plan ahead (pro-active), work independently, as well as in a team and it would be required for the officer to learn and comply with in-house systems and procedures. Strict adherence to the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience and knowledge of air-conditioning / refrigeration plant room equipment, cold / freezer room repairs / split air conditioning units and chillers.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Grade 10 (or equivalent).

Duties (Key result areas/outputs)
Perform repairs to air-conditioning / refrigeration plant and equipment and assist with emergency breakdowns (including after-hour-repairs and standby duties. Assist with the installation of new plant and equipment and alterations when required. Ability to do maintenance, Inspection of Plant, equipment, machinery and minor installations assist with projects. Complete and return repair requisitions and assist in ordering and controlling the workshop, materials and tools. Train and develop staff, supervise junior staff. Clean areas where work has been carried out.
 
Inherent requirements of the job:
Willingness to perform standby duties and work overtime when required. Valid Code 08 driver’s license.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 183 279 - R 215 892 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
