Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate 3-year degree/National Diploma.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in support or facility management in a health care environment. Appropriate supervisory experience.
 
Competencies (Knowledge/Skills):
Appropriate knowledge of the Treasury Regulations and Contract Management, PFMA, OHS and Public Service Acts. Appropriate knowledge of Contract Management (Physical Security management, health care risk waste management, pest control etc.) Computer skills (MS Office, Excel, and Word). Appropriate working knowledge of support services management or facility management.

Note:

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provide efficient and effective leadership and management of Support Services component and its resources. Manage facility management department of the hospital which comprises of the following areas: Security, Laundry, Grounds, Telephone exchange, Cleaning, Registry, Messenger, Transport and Ground Services. Manage all service contracts under the component including security contracts. Ensure relevant policy implementation and Compliance at the hospital. Ensure risk assessment inspections. Handle disciplinary and grievance procedures within Support Service. Supervision and support to supervisor.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid (Code B/EB) driver’s licence. Good communication skills, both verbal and written in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 424 104-R 496 467 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
