Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provide a clean and hygienic environment to prevent the spread of infection. General cleaning and maintenance (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, polishing, scrubbing, and mopping). Effective utilisation of cleaning materials and equipment. Ensure that cleaning equipment is clean after usage and securely stored. Effectively use cleaning agents and stock as well as elementary stock control. Responsible for general hygienic and safe environment in terms of standard and procedures. Optimal support to supervisor and colleagues.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in cleaning hospitals or health environment.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Good verbal, as well as written communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Ability to lift/move heavy objects and work at heights requiring the use of a stepladder. Ability to work co-operatively with colleagues. Relief in other departments when necessary.

Remuneration:
R 125 373 - R145 077 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
