Experience:
Appropriate experience in patient administration in a health environment with ward experience. Appropriate experience in Clinicom.
 
Note:
Candidates may be subjected to a practical test. No payment of any kind is required when applying for this post. Only applicants within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for the post.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Manage patient administration processes, according to the departmental procedures for information management on Clinicom (admissions, discharges, inter hospital transfers, appointments, abscondment and deaths. Ensure discharge forms and UPF charge sheets are completed with the correct ICD10 codes. Manage all resources (consumables and assets) according to the supply chain procedures. Provide administrative support to the ward and multidisciplinary teams (i.e. photocopying, filing of documentation, minute taking etc.) Manage and summarize statistical data and submit monthly reports and perform other lawful duties as delegated by the supervisor.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Must be computer literate and skilled in Microsoft Word and Excel spreadsheets. Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines. Ability to do problem solving and to maintain confidentiality. Friendly, neat and to have a tidy appearance. Ability to work within a team with good communication skills.

Requirements
Senior certificate (or equivalent).
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Willingness to rotate and assist in other departments as required. Good interpersonal /communication skills (read and write) in at least two of the three official languages.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 202 233-R 235 611 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
