Note:
Only officials within the Provincial Government: Western Cape will be considered for this post.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent telephone etiquette. Computer literacy (MS Office: Word and Excel). Ability of operating an electronic Switchboards (paging system). Knowledge of handling alarm systems related to switchboard.
 
Experience:
Appropriate experience in the operating of a high-volume switchboard, as well as messaging and paging systems.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Ensure effective, efficient and acceptable supervision of the switchboard section. Ensure that switchboard and telephone equipment is in working order. Ensure effective and efficient communication both internal as well as external between staff, clientele and the general public. Effective telecommunication skills. Maintain internal telephone directory. Report all faults to maintenance and service provider.

Requirement:
Senior Certificate (or equivalent).
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Shift work, night shift including weekends and public holidays. Work overtime when required by operational requirements. Physically able to hear and speak clearly.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 261 372- R 307 890 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
