Inherent requirement of the job:
A Valid driver’s licence. Willingness to travel to the districts and national offices (DOH). Be familiar with the legal, policy, managerial and clinical aspects of public health programmes/interventions and services.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Advanced computer literacy; project management and research skills. Ability to produce and evaluate detailed policy documentation and to produce reports of a high standard. The ability to perform a detailed and critical analysis of the performance of the healthcare service and propose constructive interventions. Good written and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
 
Minimum educational qualification:
Appropriate 4-year Health or Social Science related National Diploma/Degree or equivalent registrable with a South African Statutory Health Professions Council or South African Nursing Council.
 
Note:
Candidates may be subjected to a practical assessment.
 
Experience:
Extensive experience in the management and coordination of public health programmes. Appropriate experience with donor agencies and funded NGO’s.
 
Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Facilitate and develop Policy, guidelines, protocols and tools necessary to guide prioritization and implementation of public health programme interventions. Develop and coordinate all Government-to-Government workplans and activities. Monitor and engage with donor funded NPOs and ensure effective inter-sectoral collaboration. Development of Monitoring and Evaluation tools and mechanisms, including information systems. Manage people and financial resources provided for specific health programme(s). Participate as key member of the Service Priority Coordination Team as required to give effect to a health systems response.

Remuneration:
R 882 042 -R 1 038 999 per annum A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual's personal needs.
