Assistant Director: Health Support

Experience:
Appropriate experience in public health management/programme development and community or primary health care services and management thereof.
 
Requirement:
Appropriate 3 year Health related National Diploma/Degree or equivalent registrable with a South African Statutory Health Professions Council or South African Nursing Council or a Social Service Council or a National Diploma / Degree in Public Health or Social Sciences.
 
Competencies (knowledge/skills):
Computer literacy. Project management skills. Analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge and application of regulations, policies, procedures and indicators relevant to health programmes. Understanding of the District Health System. Understanding of community systems and civil society organisations. Good written and communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):
Provide technical assistance in respect of sectoral planning for the Western Cape Provincial Strategic Plan (PSP) for HIV & AIDS and STIs and the development of annual Provincial Implementation Plans Provide technical assistance for the development and implementation of activities, programmes and projects that contribute to the NSP/PIP and other relevant strategies and/or plans. Implement a sector wide monitoring and evaluation framework and monitor progress of sector performance according to set time-frames. Support and strengthen multi-sector partnerships and projects across sectors to achieve the goals and objectives of the NSP/PIP. Provide a professional support function to the Chief Directorate: ECSS and the PCAT sub-directorate in terms of planning and management activities.
 
Inherent requirement of the job:
Valid Driver’s licence. Willingness to travel to the districts and national offices.
 
 
 
 
Remuneration:
R 376 596 - R 443 601 per annum Annual salary plus service benefits (13th cheque, employer's contribution to the pension fund, housing and medical aid allowance).
