Requirements:
|
1. PURPOSE OF ROLE Managing and coordinating the overall safety initiatives and systems and ensure and assure legal compliance to minimize pure risk, litigation exposure and adverse publicity.
2. WORK OF ROLE - Codes of practice based on risk assessments and safety system audits - Coordinate the service delivery from shared environment department - Implement SBPM safety strategy - Independent review of serious incidents and all accidents - Operation risk profile based on safety internal audits and risk assessments - Safety initiatives and programmes - Source specialist safety support to facilitate achievement of support achieving operation operational objectives - Submit safety, reports for the operation to corporate and external bodies as required - Trend analysis of safety performance
3. QUALIFICATIONS • Grade 12 • Degree in Safety / Health / Environment / Mining / Engineering / Metallurgical • Computer literate (MS Power point, Word, Excel, Access, and Projects) • Risk Assessment Techniques (SWIFT, HAZOP, FMECA, AFRAD) • Incident investigation (ICAM / RCAT / SCAT / AICAT)
4. EXPERIENCE Minimum of 10 years relevant safety management experience in the mining environment
5. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS • Presentation / Facilitation / Training • Planning • Observation • Valid driver’s license • In-depth knowledge of all relevant safety legislation
