Requirements:
1. Role Profile
A Developer fulfils a shift role in a development area underground to ensure a safe quality blast per day. Responsible to ensure that rules/regulations and management specifics pertaining to daily tasks are complied with, and to deal with/report any breaching thereof. Responsible to ensure the health and safety of persons in his/her team and for persons entering his/her area of responsibility.

Blasting
Charging up
Check barring
Cleaning
Drilling
Measuring
Permanent support - Check roof bolt spacing
Safe declaration
Safety nets
Station/landing - Check material / cars and services
Temporary support
Ventilation – Fans working/not recirculating
Waiting place - Clean / safe / barricade in place

3. Qualifications
• Grade 12
• Blasting Certificate
• Shift Supervisor Certificate - Advantageous

4. Experience
Minimum of 5 year’s mining experience of which 2 years must be in a Team Supervisor position

5. Knowledge, and Skills
• Knowledge of Legal Requirements:
 MHSA Chapter 14 (Protection in workings)
 Minerals Act Chapter 8 (Responsibility in workings)
 MHSA Chapter 9 (Occupational Hygiene)
 MHSA Chapter 22 (Schedules)
 MHSA Chapter 23 (Reporting of accidents)
