Requirements:

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
This role is responsible to ensure compliance with Mine Health and Safety Act requirements regarding theoretical and practical skills development facilities underground with reference to competence and legal appointments. Execution and delivery of all technical mining skills training phases in the underground (constrained) environment. The maintenance of MQA accreditation criteria within the designated area of responsibility. In addition, all responsibilities of a legally appointed Miner are incorporated within this role.
WORK OF ROLE
• Legal appointment of 2.10.6
• Implemented and supervised operational mining skills development for competency
• Established working underground training environment conducive for skills development in compliance with the Mine Health and Safety Act
• Compliance in terms of MQA requirements
• Implemented and evaluated skills development processes and resources to ensure compliance with best practice principles
• Progressive reports on predetermined targets for mining skills development
• Implemented approved learning delivery system
• Relationships with internal and external stakeholders
QUALIFICATIONS
• Grade 12
• Rock Breaker NQF Level 3 (Blasting Certificate) - Conventional Mining
• NQF 4 Certificate in ODETDP
• Assessor Certificate
EXPERIENCE
Minimum of 3 years mining experience of which 2 years as HRD Trainer
KNOWLEDGE, AND SKILLS
• Valid driver’s license
• Computer literate
• Good communication skills
• Competent in mine HRD systems and related legislation
