Requirements:
|
1. Purpose of Role
-The Chief Surveyor is responsible for providing the mine with specialist survey and mine evaluation services and expertise and this role carries an MHSA 17.2 appointment. This role is responsible for compiling ore accounting reconciliation for the lease area; compiles basic mining equation for life of lease planning and measures compliance to group and SAMREC evaluation and survey standards, and electronic deliverables into the applicable systems.

-Ore accounting reconciliations
-Makes pay / unpaid economic recommendation
-Ore flow statement for planning purposes
-Remedial action to observed deviant practices
-Site specific standards
-Land management proposals
-Asset management proposals
-Basis for contractual management
-Ensures technical discipline integrity / audit
-Ore accounting reconciliation for each shaft
-Input into mining layouts
-Input into planning
-Auditing of systems and outcomes and certification
-Accountable for ore reserve model, validation, management including modifying factors
-Audits compliance to SAMREC standards
3. Qualifications
-Grade 12
-Mine Surveyors Certificate of Competency
-BTech in Mineral Resource Management
-Member of SAIMM / PLATO / IMSSA
4. Experience
-Minimum of 10 years experience of which 3 years must be in a managerial position
-Additional experience in mine evaluation
5. Knowledge and Skills
-Ability to manage large team of surveyors
-Ability to operate in larger environment
-Computer literacy for role: MS Office. Advantageous: CAD, GIS and Survey related packages
-Competent as 17.2 appointment
-Valid driver’s licence
