Requirements:
|
1. Purpose of Role
-Provide learner with the required exposure to institutional learning and workplace experience that will enable them to obtain a qualification, thus meeting the needs and requirements of the Siyanda Bakgatla Platinum Union Mine operations. In addition, it provides the relevant information needed to journey this qualification to help ensure that on-and off the-job training is successful for all involved.
2. Work of Role
-Adhere to basic occupational health and safety practices pertaining to shaft operations
-Functions and the operations of signaling arrangements and safety devices in a shaft
-Load and unload persons into and from a shaft conveyance
-Load and remove long material into and from a shaft conveyance
-Sling material into and remove slung material from a shaft
-Load and remove rolling stock into and from a shaft conveyance
-Prepare a conveyance for shaft examination and repairs
-Change a conveyance in a shaft
-Keep up to date with development plan requirements
-Complete practical assessments
-Liase with HRD department regarding training process
-Provide progress update to all responsible parties on a regular basis
3. Qualifications
-Grade 9 / AET Level 4
4. Experience
-Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an operational shaft (Shaft Attendant / Shaft Timber)
5. Knowledge and Skills
-Certificate of fitness
-Positive Psychometric Assessment
