Requirements:
|
1. Purpose of Role -This is a specialist investigation role and will be responsible for conducting investigations at operation level. The role reports to Protection Services Superintendent and is expected to apply best practice investigation and surveillance techniques in order to monitor high risk situations, apprehend criminals and investigate breaches of security. Personal risk is a factor in the role due to the nature of criminal investigations.
2. Work of Role -Effective investigations to support security risk management -Conduct investigations in line with set procedures and to the best practices applicable to the situation -Ensure that safety and legal standards are adhered to in performing investigation duties -Provide effective feedback to clients on the progress and conclusions of investigations -Apply investigation tools, techniques and methodologies to support initiatives -Apply when necessary contingency plans to ensure that the investigation is protected from risk even in adverse conditions -Compile accurate security reports including incident and investigation dockets and reports -Maintain applicable Safety, Regulations, The Act, Codes of practice and standards appropriate to systems -Conduct security profiling and screening of employees/suspects to agreed policies -Ensure that investigation information is accurate and secure -Act as an expert witness when called upon during criminal and departmental hearings -Abides by and understand all security codes, standards, procedures and orders -Identify opportunities to improve security standards. procedures and practices -Participation in improvement projects within protection services -Identify risks and threats to the process/functions proactively
3. Qualifications -National Diploma: Security Management -Advantageous - Bachelors' Degree in Security Management -Forensic Investigation (Level 5) -Investigate Corruption (Level 5)
4. Experience -Minimum of 5 years’ experience in similar role / investigation field
5. Knowledge and Skills -First Aid Certificate -Literate in English -Firearm Certificate
8. Pre-Requisite -Psychometric assessment -Firearm competency -Pass polygraph test -No criminal record -Registered with the PSIRA on Grade A -Valid driver’s license 08/10/14 -Valid Public Drivers Permit
